Photography Competition
Deadline - 20th June 2025
We’re excited to be hosting our first photography competition, inviting you to submit photos that capture what being part of a community means to you. Submissions can range from personal moments and small details to images of Fernhurst's scenery, views, or local landmarks. The competition is open to all, and selected entries will be exhibited at the Hub with a final 12 selected for Fernhurst’s 2026 calendar.

Summer Tea Party
Wednesday 18th June - 14:00 - 16:00hrs
To say a big thank you to all our lovely customers, we invite you to a Summer Tea Party. Our scone makers will be busy baking, so please join us for a complimentary cream tea, there’ll be lashings of cream and jam and pots of tea.
Hopefully the sun will be shining, and we look forward to seeing you for an afternoon of chat and laughter with friends.

Summer Fayre
Saturday 28th June - 10:00 - 13:00hrs
Pop down to the Hub for a morning of shopping at our Summer Artisan Fayre!
Come and experience the warmth of the community and the richness of local offerings including: locally produced honey, jams, and preserves, award winning olive oil, artisan ceramics, hand printed tea towels and much more.
It’s bound to be a fun and sociable morning so do bring your friends for a morning of shopping and enjoy a coffee and delicious home made cake.

Embroidery Workshop
New date coming for Autumn
Come and enjoy a workshop learning how to hand-embroider a beautiful spring bouquet of flowers to keep for yourself or to gift to someone special. You will be shown different stitches enabling you to complete the bouquet in the comfort of your own home.
All equipment will be provided for use on the day but be sure to bring any reading glasses if required!
You will take home a boxed embroidery kit to complete the project at home with your new-found skills.

Chair Yoga for Beginnners
Tuesday 13 May until Tuesday 8 July (there is no class on 3 June)
13.30 hrs - 14:30 hrs
New classes starting in May, will help you improve your flexibility, balance and strength. For part of the session you will be seated and you will also spend some time on standing exercises, using the chair as a prop and support. To finish, you will do some relaxing breathing before re-starting the rest of the day refreshed and energised. You don’t need special clothing or shoes - just wear something loose and comfortable around the waist.
Cost: £84 for 8 sessions (or £80 for U3A members)

Improving your Balance
Tuesday 1st - 8th - 15th April and 13th May 1630h - 17.30h
Falls are the most frequent cause of injury in the over 65s and can have serious consequences.
To help with this, we’re offering a series of 4 short workshops aimed at improving your balance. You can either do this one-to-one, with times and dates to suit you, or in larger classes (up to 6 people) at the Village Hall. The classes are very gentle and we'll go at a pace to suit you / the group.
Cost: £60 for Group Class

This course is for those who have already taken part in these classes or have taken part in classes elsewhere.
We will continue with the same exercises you learnt during the course and keep them up every week. Of course, practice in between the weekly classes will be the key to success!

Learn to sell on Vinted
New date coming soon
Keen to de-clutter your wardrobe and make some money at the same time? Our workshop will show you how! Vinted is an online marketplace whereby users can sell and purchase pre-owned clothes and accessories. Unlike other platforms, there are no fees to the seller!
During this workshop you will learn everything you need to know, so why not come along and give it a go.

Repair Cafe
Autumn 2025
Don't throw away your broken toasters, toys or trousers, book them in by clicking the link below and bring them to the Hub to see if our wonderful repairers can restore them to working order with their skill and expertise.
We’re charging a £2 registration fee to cover costs and hope you will donate to the Hub, if you can, when the item is repaired.

Evenings - 2nd Wednesday of the month at 19:30hrs
Have you always meant to read that book? Then why not join one of our friendly, informal Reading Groups.
In each group, members take it in turns to choose a book for the next meeting.
Haslemere Book Shop offers a 10% discount on books purchased by members of the Reading Circle.

Fernhurst Chess
2nd Tuesday of the Month - 14:00 - 16:00hrs

Join us for a friendly and welcoming chess afternoon. Whether you're a seasoned player or a complete beginner, everyone is welcome to come along, play, and enjoy the game!
Whilst there’s no charge to play, all we ask is that you support The Hub by purchasing a cuppa, a coffee or a cake during your game.

Have you been meaning to join a walking group lately? We run a ‘Walk & Talk’ group on the second Thursday of the month, meeting at 09:30 at the Hub.
It’s free to all and everyone is welcome including dogs!

Thursdays, 14:00 - 16:00hrs
Come along and join us for a fun and sociable afternoon playing board games and cards. Backgammon. Scrabble, Chess, Bananagrams or enjoy a game of Racing Demons. New ideas welcome. Please bring your favourites too.

Carers and Friends Monthly Meet-Up

This monthly meet-up is for unpaid carers and anyone else who would like to benefit from chat and local information. These informal, sociable gatherings take place in a relaxed environment.
In June we are joined by Aimee Webb from Carers Support West Sussex.

Music Makers at the Hub
Tuesdays - 09:30 - 10:00hrs (term time)
We are delighted to host Naomi Brimacombe, a member of staff at Fernhurst Pre-School and talented musician. She will be running 'Music Makers at the Hub' - fun with music, playing instruments, singing and dancing for children aged between 18 -36 months.
There is a charge of £2 per child but there is no need to book. And you can stay for coffee and cake after too!
