Photographic competition - entries by June 26th
Start snapping Fernhurst and nearby localities and you could find your image in our 2027 calendar, especially if it features our photogenic village. This years theme is: ‘Nature/Architecture/Light and Shade'

Art Exhibition by Wendy Denham
On view from Saturday 25th April
Come and admire Wendy’s lovely works adorning our walls. Wendy is a talented local artist who produces works with acrylics and mixed media. Wendy Denham studied at Kingston School of Art. After graduation (BA Hons), she became a highly successful fashion illustrator with clients including Liberty, Harrods and Vogue, contributing to numerous advertising campaigns. Particularly inspired by her textiles career, she discovered a new freedom of expression, colour and movement in acrylics and mixed media.
Works are for sale.

Blitz Bridge in a weekend for Beginners
Saturday 23rd May (9.30am - 3.30pm)
Sunday 24th May (10am - 4pm)
Intensive course of 12 hours teaching spread over 2 days suitable for complete beginners. The intention is to enable individuals to play “social bridge” as quickly as possible. The course will comprise a methodical run through the basic principles of bidding, card play and scoring in a way that can be picked up quickly to allow for rapid improvement with an emphasis on learning to play with cards. The numbers will be limited to ensure individuals will be able to ask questions in a friendly informal atmosphere. Participants will be able to sign up to a bridge site which offers online tuition at no cost for 3 months.

Summer Floral Cupcake Decorating Workshop
Saturday 13th June 2pm - 4pm
Join Tessa on this workshop and learn how to pipe a range of summer flowers, decorating up to 6 cupcakes during the 2-hour workshop. You will pipe large, statement flower cupcakes and mini-bouquet cupcakes. You will take home your decorated cupcakes in a presentation box. Tessa with share tips and tricks for baking cupcakes, making and using buttercream.
Tessa is a bespoke cake baker and decorator of many decades and has been a tutor and demonstrator for more than 15 years. She has been awarded Best in Class and Best in Show at British Sugarcraft Guild exhibitions and a Gold Medal at the Salon Culinaire. Tessa has also written a book on decorating biscuits, Beautiful Biscuits, which was published by Squires Kitchen.

Summer Cream Tea Party
Wednesday 24th June 2pm - 4pm
Everyone welcome for a free cream tea.
To say a big thank you to all our lovely customers, we invite you to a Summer Tea Party. Our scone makers will be busy baking, so please join us for a complimentary cream tea, there’ll be lashings of cream and jam and pots of tea.
Hopefully the sun will be shining, and we look forward to seeing you for an afternoon of chat and laughter with friends.

"What lies beneath" Embroidery Course with Magda
Saturday 25th July 10am - 3.30pm
Learning how to hand-embroider Summer Seaside Shells, bringing some sunshine into your day. During the workshop, you will be shown a number of stitches including stem, satin, chain, split and French knots, all enabling you to complete your design in the comfort of your own home.
All equipment will be provided for use on the day including a seat frame, daylight lamp and scissors, but be sure to bring any reading glasses if required!
In addition, you will take home a full embroidery kit which will include pre-printed fabric, needle, instructions on the stitches, a thread card loaded with stranded cottons and tissue paper all wrapped up in a box.

Repair Cafe
Next event Autumn 2026
Don't throw away your broken toasters, toys or trousers, book them in by clicking the link below and bring them to the Hub to see if our wonderful repairers can restore them to working order with their skill and expertise.
We’re charging a £2 registration fee to cover costs and hope you will donate to the Hub, if you can, when the item is repaired.

Tiny Tunes & Tales
Every Tuesday 9.15am - 9.45am
We are delighted, once again, to be offering a weekly music and stories session every Tuesday during term time. This is for pre-school aged children, and is a fun and informal way to introduce them to music. It’s also a great way to meet new friends and socialise your little ones.

Reading Circle
Daytime - 1st Tuesday of the month at 2.30pm
Evenings - 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm
Have you always meant to read that book? Then why not join one of our friendly, informal Reading Groups.
In each group, members take it in turns to choose a book for the next meeting.
Haslemere Book Shop offers a 10% discount on books purchased by members of the Reading Circle.

Walk & Talk

Have you been meaning to join a walking group lately? We run a ‘Walk & Talk’ group on the second Thursday of the month, meeting at 09:30 at the Hub.
It’s free to all and everyone is welcome including dogs!

Thursdays, 2pm - 4pm
Come along and join us for a fun and sociable afternoon playing board games and cards. Backgammon. Scrabble, Chess, Bananagrams or enjoy a game of Racing Demons. New ideas welcome. Please bring your favourites too.

2nd & 4th Fridays of the month, 2pm - 4.30pm
Enjoy a relaxed, sociable space to share ideas, get inspired, and spend time with others who love making things by hand. Whether you’re stitching, sketching, or crafting something new, everyone’s welcome — just bring your own materials and creativity.

Ukulele Strum Along
Sessions are usually alternate Wednesdays 6.15 pm - 7.15 pm

Our ukulele strum along group is for any ukulele players who have already learnt a number of chords. At these fun sessions (please note these are not lessons, but support is at hand from your fellow players!) a selection of songs are played, using videos, which are shared beforehand if players want to practice prior to the session.
