Enter the Hub’s 1st Photography Competition

The Fernhurst Hub is proud to launch its 2025 Photographic Competition, inviting residents and photography enthusiasts to showcase their creative vision of village life. The winning images will not only be displayed in the Hub’s gallery but also have the chance to be featured in the official 2026 Fernhurst Hub Calendar.

This year’s theme, “Fernhurst Life: What Does It Mean to Be Part of a Community?”, offers a broad and inspiring canvas. Whether it’s a serene countryside moment, a bustling village event, or a simple act of kindness, the competition encourages participants to capture the essence of what makes Fernhurst and environs, a special place to live.

“We want to see photographs that spark emotion, tell a story, and reflect the heart of our community,” said Liz Rawlings, manager of the Fernhurst Hub. “If your image brings a smile to your face every time you see it, chances are it’ll do the same for others too.”

All ages and abilities are welcome to enter, using any kind of camera—phone, digital, or DSLR. The competition is designed to be inclusive and to celebrate the wide-ranging perspectives of life in and around Fernhurst.

The judging panel will be led by Chris Gorman otherwise known as The Big Ladder Photographer, an internationally acclaimed prerss and drone photographer with over 25 years’ experience. Chris has worked with prestigious clients including the BBC, Waitrose, The Guardian, and Universal Pictures. His expert eye will help select the most powerful and visually compelling entries.
